Reporting directly to the SVP Sales & Marketing, the Commercial Agriculture Building Sales Consultant is responsible for contributing towards the growth of our Norseman Structures business, while servicing and maintaining new and existing customers.  The Sales Consultant will also be responsible for generating new potential customers on an ongoing basis by: networking, researching, prospecting, cold-calling, following-up, closing deals and managing accounts. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Network with prospective customers, collect info and determine business potential
  • Establish, develop, nurture and maintain business relationships
  • Follow up on leads and deliver effective presentations to potential customers
  • Identify and develop opportunities in target industries and update Salesforce
  • Prepare accurate quotations and proposals
  • Represent Norseman Structures products in a professional manner
  • Create and manage customer account information in Salesforce
  • Create and develop a professional business plan and sales strategy for the market to attain company sales goals and ensure profitability
  • Plan and organize a personal sales strategy in a logical, cost effective manner for the target market
  • Communicate and collaborate with various internal departments to successfully coordinate the sales effort
  • Provide management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Plan, participate and report on trade shows, events and conventions
  • Actively engage in professional development opportunities that align with skills and competency development strategies
  • Provide quality customer service and after-service follow up
  • Adhere to legislations, company policies, procedures and business ethics codes

Desired Qualifications / Skills

  • 5-10 years of industrial sales experience with a proven track record of achievement in sales growth and new business development
  • Post-secondary education will be an asset
  • Previous experience working within the commercial agricultural or construction industry will be an asset
  • Strong analytical skill and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (notably MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint), internet browsing & email
  • Customer Relationship Management software (Salesforce) experience
  • A valid drivers’ license and access to your own vehicle (travel will be required
