IQ PARTNERS Inc. is currently looking to hire a Business Development Manager (Insurance) for our insurance client in North York for an exciting Full-time permanent job opportunity. You will support wholesale insurance business development while developing and maintaining strong relationships with our distributor, channel partners and clients to create and maintain long-term partnerships and ensure a high level of client satisfaction and retention.


Compensation: 70k base + 70k variable (STIP & Commission) + additional perks


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for supporting/achieving the Sales Goals for the company and providing effective support to distributors for the prospecting and sales support for clients.   This wholesaler will represent our comprehensive suite of insurance products and services in the financial institution market, including banks, credit unions, finance companies, and auto dealers.  He or she will be responsible for creating the distribution relationships and subsequent product sales needed to support the company sales goals.
  • Identifies target prospects and collaborates with distribution partners to successfully solicit new business and expand markets.
  • May seek new distribution relationships to expand product markets.
  • Develops strong relationships with our existing distribution partners and supports building their business through value-added sales strategies.
  • Conducts joint sales presentations with distribution partners.  Serves as product and service expert, supporting distributor client sales. 
  • Acts as a primary resource to support and address new and/or ongoing account level needs through representing the company for all insurance product sales and renewal efforts.
  • Collaborates with and supports distribution account managers for all sales and renewal activities (i.e.: client needs analysis, RFP, overview, product briefings,) and product training for existing and prospective distribution partners.
  • Collaborates with internal associates to articulate client and distributor needs and direct the effective and timely completion of product proposals and marketing plans.
  • Works closely with internal sales support resources to promote the brand message and support the development of consistent and effective sales promotion materials.
  • Assists marketing and product development in identifying customer and client, and distributor needs.
  • Represents company at industry events to aid in sales and retention of distributors and clients.
  • Manages travel and expense budgets effectively. 




Qualifications / Skills and Experience


  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with both external clients and internal team members in a matrixed environment.
  • Sales or sales support experience in a corporate environment. 
  • Demonstrated strong sales presentation skills, written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with distribution partners and internal associates.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in an ever-changing environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a growing and changing organization.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
  • Based out of Toronto. 



Preferred skills for this job: 

  • 3-5 years of proven sales experience.
  • Post-secondary degree program.
  • Prior product/industry knowledge and experience.
