An emerging intermediate gold producer located in Canada with mines in Mexico, is in search of a hands on Compensation Analyst to support the Director of HR within their downtown Toronto office. This organization is in growth mode with the development of a new mining facility in Mexico within the next year.
This is a free standing role where the incumbent will act as the subject matter expert regarding all issues revolving around the salary compensation portion of their business model.
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the research and analysis of market data on a global basis to support the development and implementation of the global employee structure.
He/She will monitor key metrics,producing and analyzing data from multiple sources to answer business needs.
The Compensation Analyst will be a professional with a general understanding of HR industry practices and company policies and procedures.
The incumbent should be proficient in analysis and interpretation of data to make logical conclusions and present findings in a simple and concise way to HR management.
Key responsibilities are but not limited to:
Analyzing large amounts of data using statistical methods.
Researching compensation trends and compensation data.
Using HRIS and Compensation Administration systems to run queries and research issues as needed.
Provide data in support of the annual salary planning process.
Acting as a key contributor to the development of Global Pay Structures.
Salary survey participation for an assigned Region or Survey(s) and summarizing Market Data for broader review within the Rewards Function.
Other miscellaneous pay research and analyses, as needed.
You will be a strong team player and will possess:
A University degree or pertinent work experience
8+ years in a similar role
A broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to analytics, incentives compensation theory.
Global/multi-national experience is an asset
The ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors;
Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for identifying solutions.
Possess the ability to assess data/trends to assist building business cases for recommendations.
Able to explain difficult concepts and act as a consultant for making informed recommendations based on analysis.
Strong focus on service excellence, working collaboratively with the HR team and managers to provide consultation and resources to assist in decision making.
An open communication style and the ability to convey policies effectively.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy; skilled in manipulating data and the ability to work within a deadline driven environment.
Solid business acumen and understanding of HR planning processes coupled with strong mathematical skills.
The ability to maintain a high degree of sensitivity and exercise discretion in regards to confidential material.
Flexible to new and expanding responsibilities and roles desired.
Ability to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with HR database queries (e.g. PeopleSoft, Workday) and general knowledge of Human Resources functions or disciplines.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to work on many tasks concurrently
Working knowledge of Microsoft business applications with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel
Remuneration: $90-$120K depending on experience + Bonus of 15%-20%
