Our client is a global medical software development company, headquartered in the Netherlands, who is launching their Canadian office and hiring a Digital Marketing Lead as employee #1.

This role will be an integral part of building the culture and team in the Toronto office. You are someone who works hard but likes to laugh and have a good time. We are looking for someone who is a real team player, who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and do the work and knows how to inspire and grow their team. You will be responsible for setting up our marketing department from scratch. That means hiring the best marketing professionals and defining our marketing strategy.

We are a startup, so you need to have a flexible mindset with the ability to take ownership and have a can-do mentality. You are a versatile digital marketing lead who is up to date on the latest digital trends and innovations and is not afraid to bring creative solutions to the table. You will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online and offline marketing channels and manage our agency partners.

Requirements of Role:

  • To be successful in this role, you should have hands-on experience with web analytics tools and be able to turn creative ideas into effective advertising projects.
  • Bachelor or Master Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a digital marketing manager
  • Management experience
  • Outstanding communication skills from a verbal and written perspective

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build the marketing department from scratch, including managing/hiring 5 marketing professionals that are related to your department (SEO, Copywriter, Social Media, CRO and paid marketing)
  • Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our various web properties and drive qualified traffic to our websites
  • Manage the marketing budget and ensuring that all marketing material are in line with our brand identity and marketing goals
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis
  • Produce valuable and engaging content for our website and blog that attracts and converts our target groups
  • Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely
  • Oversee and approve marketing material, from website content to hard copy brochures
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
  • Analyze consumer behavior and adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly
  • Tracking and analyzing the performance of advertising campaigns
