This individual will be accountable for all TTI Canada training, with a focus on product knowledge and sales and marketing skill-based development.
 
They need to finish what was started over the past two years with developing best-in-class product knowledge training that will be kicked off in July when their brand-new Milwaukee Experience Centre will launch in July. This new facility will be yours to run as the primarily focus of the Centre is for conducting hands-on power tool training.
 
You will be expected to stay on top of new product launches and ensuring the training continues to meet TTI's business needs. TTI expects extraordinary results and needs their core training to support this.
 
You will be accountable for the Core Training function and be expected to develop annual plans and budget, while working towards the longer-term strategy. You need to stay on top of emerging trends to ensure the training generates excitement to support the overall Leadership Development program focused on new graduate recruits.
 
You will build, lead, and guide your team in making sure the overall goals are being achieved while ensuring your team is engaged and receiving the development they need for their careers. You see your team as people first and employees second.
 
This is an at-office role first. You will be a significant part of maintaining and supporting great company culture, you know the importance of employee engagement and treating people well and are a promoter of in-person working and the positive impact it has on culture.
 
Primary Responsibilities/Qualifications:
 
You are an experienced Training and Development professional with a demonstrated history of being a valued leader and coach to your team who achieves results through flawless execution. You are up for a challenge to build a best-in-class training program and team, and you know what great looks like. You have experience building out a best-in-class Sales and Marketing training program and exceptional product knowledge training. Critical training includes product knowledge, selling, negotiation, account management etc. Strong planning and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships will be critical for success in this role.
 
While the current focus of the role is on sales and marketing training and development, this role has potential to include additional talent management accountabilities as business needs evolve.
  • Provide input to the Vice President from a training and development viewpoint to feed into the overall HR strategic plan and strategy
  • Develop and execute the training strategy and the multi-year roadmap to support the continued growth of the company
  • Manage the new off-site training facility as critical training moves from the United States to Canada in July 2024, including the set-up and launch of the new site known as the Milwaukee Experience Centre
  • Development, design and execute employee onboarding programs and comprehensive sales and marketing training programs for TTI Canada employees – currently 725 employees with expected growth to over 1,000 in the next few years
  • Determine and implement processes to ensure training effectiveness is measured and that learning is applied back on-the-job
  • Partner with multiple levels in the organization to understand business needs and design solutions to address current and future capability gaps
  • Determine the strategy for using external vendors and ensure they are used effectively
  • Liaise with the U.S. and areas of the globe in understanding best practices
  • Leverage the available e-learning system and manage the required e-learning compliance training for all employees
  • Build a team that strives for greatness and ensures continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Ten years plus experience in learning and development and living the company culture
  • Adult learning and development certificate an asset, with proven experience designing and measuring learning programs, including experience with e-learning
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships
  • Proven ability to create long-term and short-term plans and flawlessly execute
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Experience in hard goods preferred
  • Experience working as part of a Human Resources team preferred
