Job Description

Our client, a national digital advertising leader is searching for a Human Resources Business Partner. 

This role is responsible championing Labour Relations and driving organizational performance by collaborating with senior management on all related key HR activities. 

Practice areas include labour / employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, implementation of HR initiatives and programs, change management, organizational design and development, and employment standards.

•    Build and foster ongoing strategic relationships with key stakeholders (including Union leaders) to coach and influence business decisions
•    Participate as an integral member of each client’s management team, providing advice, coaching and leadership regarding human capital impact  
•    Interpret union-management agreements and represent management in the negotiation and settlement of grievances
•    Prepare information and testimony to represent interpretation of contractual/legal issues
•    Participate in the collective bargaining process and settlment labour conflicts
•    Research and participate in negotiating labour contracts that maximize management’s objectives
•    Provide leadership and support to all areas of the business both regionally and nationally

•    Degree or diploma in HR management (preferred concentration HR, Organizational Design & Development or Management)
•    6+ years of HR/LR experience, or an equivalent in education/experience
•    CHRP designation
•    Understanding of HR legislation (e.g. Employment Standards, Human Rights, Health & Safety, Privacy, Labour Relations, etc)
•    Previous experience in a “business partner” operating model
•    Previous experience in a management role an asset
•    Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills  
•    Able to positively influence, negotiate, partner and coach others
•    Cooperative approach to working with people outside of the reporting relationship and at all levels of leadership
•    Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact
•    Strong influencing/consultative skills
•    Proven ability to actively support change management
