Job Description

HR Director/Senior HR Manager


Responsibilities and Duties


  • Develop and maintain an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
  • Partner with management to understand the long-term organizational objectives, identify areas of opportunity and implement Human Resource interventions needed to meet the short and longer-term growth strategies
  • Design, develop and execute best-practice initiatives for core human resources policies and programs, including succession and career planning, compensation, benefits, recruitment, employment processing and employee retention
  • Provide senior level advice and recommendations to senior management and departmental administrators on matters relating to human resources issues
  • Act as a change agent to build awareness of new human resources processes and facilitate successful process, behavior and cultural change
  • Oversee and provide strong mentorship to the HR team through effective training, coaching and team building
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the department, ensure security and accuracy of employee records, consistency of practice and maintenance of optimum service levels
  • Ensure effective benefit and compensation policies, practices and systems are in place in accordance with collective agreements, government guidelines and best practices
  • Ensure appropriate communication with the management team regarding matters relating to human resources issues
  • Represent the Company before government agencies, other institutions, various organizations and groups
  • Other related duties as required




  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in human resources department in hospitality industry
  • 5+ years of human resources management experience with 3+ years as director or senior manager level
  • Experience with all jurisdiction labour laws is required, knowledge of the US labour laws is a plus
  • Experience with creating HR policies and procedures
  • Able to work collaboratively and build productive relationships across levels and functions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and influence senior leadership teams
  • Demonstrated experience in various areas of human resources: employee relations, recruiting, talent management/succession planning, employee engagement, etc.
  • Experience with ADP WFN is a plus
  • Extremely flexible, proactive, highly organized, and ability to shift priorities, multi-task, and handle heavy workflow processing
