Licensed Insurance Agent- Chatham

We have an opening for a Personal Insurance Agent to join our team working at our Chatham office.

Core Tasks Specific to your role:

  • Service on-going client needs, advise on insurance matters, conduct needs assessment, recommend solutions and answer inquiries
  • Retain existing book of business - sell new policies/writing new business to existing clients
  • Contact Underwriters and Adjusters to discuss guidelines and policy
  • Prepare documentation for insurers, complete applications for clients, issue insurance certificates, process changes and review renewals
  • Be attentive to the customer in order to fully understand their situation
  • Keep current on underwriting rules and workflow processes
  • Actively participate in training initiatives and professional development required of the position

Skills and Experience:

  • Post Secondary Education
  • Sales and customer service experience
  • Excellent customer retention and sales skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • RIBO Licensed (an asset)
  • Previous experience with Applied Epic is an asset

Job Requirements *

  • 2 years Insurance sales experience
  • Currently hold a valid OTL/RIBO license
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or working towards CIP designation is an asset
