OPPORTUNITY

Our client, a leading Programmatic Agency,  is seeking a Managing Director to head up their business. This role will set the vision and strategy, in alignment with the global agency vision and mission, drive operational excellence, and build and foster the high-performance consultative culture the business unit needs to continue its success as the media landscape continues to evolve. Leveraging the audience analytics offering and leading technical products in display, video, mobile, social, advanced TV, audio and DOOH, this business leader will be expected to shape services for clients that get the most out of sophisticated technology, emerging data stacks and predictive algorithms.

As part of the leadership team for the Canadian agency partners, this role will lead all current and emerging advertising experiences delivered through programmatic and addressable channels. The MD will also be responsible for delivering outstanding client partnership to all clients and agency partners.

Acting as a true partner to our Strategic Business Units, the Managing Director will lead the programmatic agenda. He/she will have the skills necessary to demystify complex technical elements of today’s rapidly evolving digital advertising landscape across businesses and disciplines to focus on marketing objectives.

RESPSONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the evolution of the agency business in Canada - aligned with the global agency strategy – including market positioning, structure, and team culture by having the best talent in the right roles to ensure continued success.
  • Deliver best-in-class programmatic services consistently and in an integrated way to clients across the Canadian network.
  • Drive the evolution of the agency's product offering in Canada based on the global product roadmap, including the continued expansion of channels (i.e., audio, outdoor) that can be bought programmatically.
  • Drive revenue growth and margin ahead of the industry average to guarantee the continued prioritization of resources and investment in future capabilities.
  • Be an industry thought leader on the advancement of programmatic techniques and how it can further all media and marketing in the near future.
  • Serve as a resident expert and consultant to the agency's key stakeholders - leadership team, partners, and clients.
  • Contribute to clients’ business growth by identifying new opportunities and fostering a culture of innovation and learning within the agency.
  • Partner with media agencies and specialized agencies to optimally develop capabilities and collaborate within teams for the best client and commercial outcomes.
  • Engage, mentor, and foster exceptional performance of the agency team through transparent communication, ongoing constructive feedback & guidance, and the setting of stretch performance goals for the team and individuals.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 15+ years’ experience in digital media disciplines, performance marketing or database marketing with an ad agency, network, DSP or publisher
  • Deep understanding of online ad serving, creative capabilities, behavioral targeting and data strategies
  • Exceptional new business and client facing skills
  • Experience in senior-level client negotiation and management skills, with clear and substantive speaking, writing and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead cross-team projects; communication and processes
  • Strong diagnostic, consultative and influencing skills
  • Established leadership presence that embodies credibility, integrity, and authority
  • Inquisitive, curious, and challenging approach with an appetite for continuous learning and personal development
  • Ability to flex between high-level strategic vision, and effective implementation and engagement
