Our client is a leader in the niche dating website world and are currently launching their Canadian office with the hire of a Public Relations Manager.

The successful candidate will bring a background in fully integrated public relations campaigns. You are a strong writer with social media, media relations and event/conference experience. You are an organized, detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in an unstructured environment. We are looking for someone who has the gravitas to sell through your strategy and ideas to senior executives.

  • Overseeing the company's communications & social media (press releases, blog posts, media submissions, fact sheets, pitches, etc.)
  • Assist with developing a positive corporate image through social media strategies
  • Planning, developing and implementing exciting, unique and custom PR strategies suited to the industry
  • Growing our sites and apps through events, public relations efforts, media initiatives, and community outreach, focusing on our biggest markets while also trying to grow smaller ones
  • Leveraging existing media relationships and obtaining new contacts within the industry
  • Researching, writing, and distributing press material
  • Planning and executing marketing events (conferences, trade shows, launches, etc.)
  • Acting as a bridge between our international offices; coordinating with the leadership team and executing their visions

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a public relations or communications role
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations & Communications or relevant work experience
  • Previous tech startup and event organization experience is an asset
  • Ability to coordinate between time zones and work in collaboration with our office overseas
  • Excellent project management skills; plan and execute projects within scope and budget
  • Must be able to build and maintain strong relationships and media contacts
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences
  • Self-motivated and thrives in a demanding dynamic environment
  • Valid passport for international travel.
