IQ PARTNERS Inc. is currently looking to hire a Product Manager, Group Solutions for our Insurance client in Toronto for an exciting Full-time permanent job opportunity in which you will manage the development, planning and direction of group products with a focus on product innovation, competitiveness and forecasting future performance on a national basis.

The role

  • Designs and recommends group product actions and manages the ongoing development and enhancement of Group Products overall product offerings
  • Manages marketing resources to achieve marketing objectives
  • Collaborates with Group Products management and corporate partners to develop, communicate, facilitate/coordinate, implement and monitor new or enhanced products.


Responsibilities include

  • Develop, implement and manage marketing plans, programs and materials for group products which are delivered through the Group Representatives and their Group Distribution Partners.
  • Manage and execute the launches of new, revised and enhanced Group products
  • Analyze the markets for Group products, the regulatory environment, customer and distribution needs and competitors’ products
  • Research and analyze market price competitiveness, support the installation of price changes for both new business and renewals.
  • Gather external requirements from a variety of sources, including prospects, customers, industry analysts, competitive products, etc. to determine product and marketing requirements
  • Participate in the improvement of the market delivery process; evaluates product performance to help prioritize and develop goals and objectives; recommends changes to current product offering
  • Coach and mentor team members; identify employee training and development needs; participate in the hiring and employment processes for team members; set employee goals and objectives; manage employee performance


Knowledge / Experience / Certification

  • 5 - 8 years work experience in group insurance is preferred
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet, database and presentation software
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be an asset
  • HIAA and CEBS courses would be an asset
  • Project Management experience and Underwriting knowledge would be an asset
  • Completion of a university degree with a discipline in Business and or Marketing
  • Ability to conduct research, investigate and analyze
  • Ability to apply policy terms and adjudication guidelines to solve problems
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects
  • Well-developed sales, marketing and project management skills
