Summary of Position
Drive sales growth and execute Ownable Capability sales through Regional Chains and existing Food Service distributors.

• Maintain and grow targeted sales results with assigned Regional Chains
Can provide examples of calling on and driving new launches / growth with Regional Chains
• Targeted and active Funnel management
Demonstrate how they use CRM type systems to identify and track against account opportunities
• Plans and profiles for assigned accounts
Demonstrated creation and use of Account Business Plans
• Assigned distributor customer management
Demonstrated experience in calling on or dealing with distributors and their sales networks
• Timely management of contracts and contract renewals
Outline their experience in dealing with annual contracts
• Timely/documented pricing and contract management status in internal tracking system(s)
Examples of how they deal with the uncomfortable discussion around price increases
• Proactive and documented private label liability account management (expectation is no Cardinal assumed liabilities)
Do they have experience in selling PL items? Experience with end of life and how they manage remnants of packaging, finished goods etc.
• Develop high and wide customer relationships with regional chains
How they approach networking and maintaining relationships. What would old customer say about them?
• Initiate and plan customer requirements with the Sales and Marketing leadership teams
How they align their plans with senior management and engage marketing to assist in delivering their goals
• Participate in customer presentations, business reviews, trade shows and reporting
• Monthly sales forecast and budget gap analysis
Examples of how they tract their business
• Internal coordination with Sales Operations regarding customer forecasts
• Manage full sales cycle from prospect through to product implementation
Examples of how they work cross functionally to manage new customer / new item introduction
• Identify and share market trends and potential risks within the food service industry
• Engage broker support as needed and approved by Director Develop new opportunities to enhance sales results and work in conjunction with our broker network nationally
Demonstrated experience with working collaboratively with brokers
• Demonstrated Servant Leadership
Regardless of their people management experience, how do they lead and be seen as a leader
• Customer relationship and account management ensuring customer coverage is maintained during planned and unplanned absences
• Act within Cardinals’ company philosophy
• Achieve sales budgets
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Strong understanding of the foodservice industry with 5+ years of regional account sales
• Experience with national distributor account management.
• Proven experience and success in building sustainable relationship at all levels within customers’ organizations
• Excellent negotiating, assessment and analytical abilities
• Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent account planning and execution skills
• Results driven, with strong interpersonal skills and business acumen
• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
