The senior art director will join a multidisciplinary creative team that consists of a creative director, an associate creative director, senior art director, senior copywriter, intermediate copywriter, intermediate art director/designer, two senior production artists, and a lead web developer.
The senior art director will partner with both the senior and intermediate copywriters on multidisciplinary campaigns for all of our clients as well as on special projects with the creative director and associate creative director.
The work we do for our clients covers many disciplines, including print, broadcast, social, radio, digital, OOH, and package design The successful candidate will have a strong portfolio in many, if not all of these disciplines, with particular emphasis in print, social and broadcast or digital video.
The person in this role will be expected to provide creative mentorship to more junior members of the team.
Skills & Experience:
This role demands strong art direction and design skills, exceptional ideation skills and the ability to confidently and persuasively present these ideas both internally and to clients.
The ideal candidate has 6–8 years of experience working on multidisciplinary campaigns in an agency that values award-worthy conceptual thinking and design acumen.
Ideation/conceptual skills – Do you push boundaries? Can you bring big, new ideas to life and sell them effectively to clients? We need a strong ideator and realizer of strong, effective ideas.
Design/art direction acumen – There is no dedicated studio. Art directors take their work from conception all the way through to execution. You have an exceptional eye for design, art direction, layout, typography and composition.
Strong presentation/selling skills – Are you an articulate, confident and persuasive presenter who listens to and understands client needs and what levers to use in order to sell through ideas?
Time management and organizational skills – Our deadlines are short and the ability to prioritize time and project deliverables is essential. You need to be on top of your stuff.
Collaboration skills – First and foremost you should be able and eager to partner easily with our intermediate and senior copywriters. Additionally, we are a small agency that doesn’t believe in walled departments. Our creative team often brainstorms with the account and strategy team to come up with unexpected ideas.
