The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for setting finished goods inventory levels and developing demand plans to ensure demand can be fulfilled at lowest cost within service level targets. The SC Planner serves as the bridge between Demand (e.g. sales forecasting) and Supply (production planning and purchasing). They have an in-depth understanding of sales and operations capabilities as well as the influence to drive consensus between the two.

Job Duties
Day-to-Day and Weekly
  • Monitor and review finished goods inventory levels
  • Execute Monthly/Quarterly planning activities
  • Identify finished goods stock shortages, coordinate corrective actions, and communicate with sales teams
  • Identify and flag large planned inventory increases for evaluation by Operations and Finance Leadership
  • Identify and flag large variances in actual to forecast demand
  • Serve as process owner/gatekeeper for supply chain master data (Item codes, descriptions, Units of Measure, etc…)
  • Review and reconcile contract warehouse storage invoices
Monthly/Quarterly
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead the supply chain planning process
  • Develop demand plans by geography and product line using input from Sales teams and actual data
  • Develop supply plans in collaboration with manufacturing and purchasing leadership
  • Drive consensus on demand and supply plans with sales and operations leadership
  • Coordinate load of demand plans into ERP system for use in driving MRP requirements
  • Review and maintain optimal inventory/replenishment parameters by warehouse
  • Identify slow moving finished goods inventory and drive corrective actions with stakeholders
  • Generate, analyze monthly reports on finished goods inventory (stock-outs, turnover, aging) and actual to demand plan variances
  • Rebalance inventory levels through sales redirection and/or inter-warehouse transfers
As Required/Requested
  • Support sales in designing and reviewing customer specific stocking programs
  • Develop inventory and supply plans to support new product launches
  • Coordinate product end-of-life inventory management with sales and product management
  • Document and maintain supply chain master data process and policies
  • Participate in new product development, business systems, and/or other special projects
  • Participate in inventory counts and reconciliations
Education & Experience
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or related field
  • 10 years+ combined experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, procurement, and/or logistics roles
Work Conditions
  • Office setting, Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week
  • Occasional visits to warehouse and production facilities
  • Occasional overtime and travel may be required
