IQ PARTNERS Inc. is currently looking to hire a Tax Manager for our Financial Technology client in downtown Toronto (close to Union Station) for an exciting Full-time permanent job opportunity in which you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of income tax and financial returns, as well as accompanying information slips, for hedge fund clients established primarily as trusts and limited partnerships.

The role:

This position will be part of a global team of tax professionals and will liaise directly with clients, investors, auditors and external parties regarding tax related questions/concerns and also be required to perform legislative tax research as required.  The Tax Manager will also work on additional projects such as HST/GST filings, FATCA reporting, and lead the team in advising clients on a variety of tax related matters, including registered products and other WHT issues.  The position requires the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once to deliver a high level of service to clients.



  • Review and prepare tax provisions and income allocations for investment funds including trusts and limited partnerships
  • Review and prepare trust income tax returns and partnership financial returns using tax software
  • Liaise with investment fund managers and audit firms during the audit and review process
  • Advise clients and internal parties on all tax related matters
  • Assist and participate in special projects and other duties as necessary
  • Lead in the development and mentorship of junior tax staff
  • Participate fully as a member of the Canadian and U.S. teams and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Stay current on changes to tax legislation and other tax compliance requirements for investment funds



  • Undergraduate accounting, finance or equivalent degree
  • Must have a professional accounting designation
  • A minimum of 4 years of tax experience
  • Tax and accounting experience in the financial services sector, specifically in the asset management industry
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with tax software
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work independently, under pressure, and with attention to detail to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
