We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP of Sales to oversee and drive sales operations within the solar sales and construction industry. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership, team management, and revenue growth in a multi-channel environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both traditional sales methodologies and modern digital sales techniques, specifically within the solar energy and construction sectors, and will be capable of integrating these approaches to maximize performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy and Execution:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies tailored to the solar energy and construction market, encompassing direct sales and digital marketing channels.
  • Identify new market opportunities within the renewable energy sector and establish plans to capture and grow market share.
  • Set and achieve sales targets, forecasts, and budgets aligned with company objectives, focusing on residential, commercial, and industrial solar installations.
2. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse sales team to achieve individual and collective goals, with a focus on technical knowledge and industry-specific expertise.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability within the solar sales team.
  • Implement training and development programs to enhance team skills and knowledge, particularly in solar technology, energy efficiency, and construction practices.
3. Channel Management:
  • Oversee direct sales operations, ensuring effective customer relationship management and sales processes tailored to solar projects.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to optimize digital marketing campaigns and lead generation efforts specific to the solar and construction industry.
  • Analyze and optimize the sales funnel across all channels to improve conversion rates and sales efficiency, focusing on solar project leads and conversions.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders within the solar and construction industries.
  • Address and resolve customer issues promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track and analyze customer interactions and sales data, with a focus on solar project management and customer lifecycle.
5. Performance Analysis and Reporting:
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management, with insights specific to the solar industry.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed to achieve solar sales targets.
  • Implement and utilize sales tools and technologies to streamline processes and enhance productivity in solar sales and project tracking.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, project management, and customer support teams to align strategies and achieve business objectives within the solar and construction sectors.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects to drive company-wide initiatives focused on renewable energy solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a senior sales leadership role, preferably within the solar or renewable energy, HVAC, home improvement, or construction industries.
  • Proven success in managing multi-channel sales operations, including direct sales and digital marketing within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics and CRM software.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies in the solar energy market.
  • Knowledge of solar technology, energy efficiency, and construction practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
