Director of Operations Compensation: $110,000 – $150,000 base + ~15% bonus target

senior leadership role within a fast-growing, multi-location business, responsible for overseeing end-to-end operations across studios, food & beverage, and retail.
Role Overview Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the
Director of Operations provides executive oversight of studio operations, F&B, retail, and core operational cost centres across all locations.
This includes direct leadership through Studio Managers and F&B Managers, as well as responsibility for scaling operational excellence across existing and future locations.
The role also includes oversight of an off-site commissary kitchen and laundry facility via a dedicated Commissary Manager.
Key Responsibilities Strategy & Financial Management - Own and execute operational and F&B business plans aligned to company strategy
- Develop and manage annual budgets across F&B, retail, FOH, and BOH cost centres
- Analyze income statements to drive profitability, pricing strategy, and cost efficiency
- Identify new revenue streams and cost optimization opportunities
Operational Leadership - Oversee studio operations through Studio Managers and F&B Managers
- Establish and maintain operational standards across all locations
- Monitor KPIs and conduct operational audits to ensure performance standards
- Lead operational planning for new studio openings and expansions
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, standards, and compliance requirements
Food & Beverage Leadership - Lead the strategic direction of Tonic Bar and Tonic House across locations
- Oversee financial performance including revenue, COGS, labour, and waste
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure quality and profitability
- Collaborate on menu development, logistics, and operational execution with Commissary and F&B teams
- Maintain health, safety, and brand standards across all F&B operations
Retail & Merchandise - Lead merchandise strategy including product selection, pricing, and sales optimization
- Manage inventory performance, supplier relationships, and margin optimization
- Align merchandising strategy with marketing campaigns and seasonal initiatives
Leadership & Team Development - Build and lead high-performing operations and F&B teams
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of direct reports
- Develop leadership pipeline and ensure consistency across locations
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Act as key liaison between COO and studio-level operations
- Partner with Marketing, Events, and Finance teams to align on business objectives
- Ensure clear communication of policies, updates, and operational changes
Customer & Brand Experience - Own delivery of the end-to-end guest experience across all locations
- Evaluate and implement systems and tools to improve customer journey and efficiency
About You - Passion for fitness and wellness
- 5+ years managing a P&L of $10M+ annual revenue
- 5+ years overseeing 30+ direct or indirect reports
- Strong financial and analytical capability, including Excel proficiency
- Experience working with operational systems and software platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational discipline
- Thrives in fast-paced, evolving, and non-rigid environments
- Hands-on, team-first leadership style
- Degree in business or related field considered an asset
- Experience in high-volume fitness and/or F&B environments considered an asset
