VP, Corporate Communications

Our client, a fiercely independent, award-winning Canadian owned and operated integrated communications agency, is looking for a senior corporate communications practitioner with a stellar track record in building and executing ambitious strategic programs across integrated channels and targeted at diversified external and internal audiences.
  
The VP will lead a broad spectrum of clients from corporate/consumer brands, financial services, real estate and technology. The individual will also participate on the senior leadership team and will report to the Executive Vice President.
  
You will:

• Responsible for client strategy, integrated media strategy and planning
• Independently lead day to day account operations and serve as a primary senior client contact, developing positive client relationships
• Provide client counsel on strategic and tactical matters, generating innovative ideas and opportunities that are linked to the development of strategic client plans
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges
• Interact with clients to present strategic recommendations, addressing challenges and opportunities, providing ideas/suggestions that align with business and client needs
• Provide executive communications strategy and support including message and media preparedness
• Ability to seamlessly manage issues and crisis; provide support and counsel to C-Suite clients and executives
• Brief and inform account teams. Communicate expectations/goals to the team on an ongoing basis, helping to keep the team motivated by communicating clear tasks and actions
• Help drive the growth of the agency overall through social amplification, networking, speaking opps, etc
• Participate in new business development for the team and collaborate among practice areas at the agency in support of broader new business pitches
• Thought leadership and commentary on current communications/marketing and industry issues

You have:

• 12-plus years public relations experience with a corporate communications PR background; digital understanding an asset with strong team leadership and new business experience. Experience working with B2B clients and media training a plus
• Proven experience as a client and team leader, a day-to-day client counselor, and strategic client partner
• Deep expertise in product launches, branding campaigns, media integrations, influencer engagement, and creating deep brand footprints
• Established leader who has managed and grown talent via mentoring, providing constructive feedback, and inspiring best in class work.
