About Canada Climate Capital Canada Climate Capital ("CCC") is a new investment platform created to accelerate Canada's transition to a renewable future by providing capital solutions for small- and mid-sized climate infrastructure projects.
While billions in Investment Tax Credits (ITCs) are being deployed to fund renewable energy projects, most existing financing solutions serve only the largest projects. CCC fills this critical gap by unlocking ITC-secured financing for smaller, distributed clean energy projects.
The Opportunity CCC is seeking its inaugural Chief Executive Officer / Chief Investment Officer to lead the launch, growth, and management of this unique investment platform. This individual will be empowered to define the firm's strategy, build a high-performing team, and oversee all investment and operational decisions. This is a rare opportunity to lead a new climate finance venture from inception—combining institutional capital, structured finance, and high-impact sustainability outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute CCC's business strategy, including fund structure, product design, and growth roadmap.
- Lead all investment, underwriting, and portfolio management activities across ITC-secured lending products.
- Partner with the Board and Chairman to raise capital from institutional investors, banks, and strategic partners.
- Build, mentor, and lead a small, high-caliber investment and operations team.
- Represent CCC as a thought leader in Canadian climate finance, policy, and infrastructure investment circles.
Investment Management
- Oversee sourcing, diligence, and underwriting of renewable and climate infrastructure projects across Canada.
- Design scalable credit and risk frameworks, working closely with third-party auditors, insurers, and legal partners.
- Optimize capital deployment and risk-adjusted returns for investors while ensuring environmental integrity.
- Manage portfolio performance and reporting to investors, ensuring transparency and compliance.
Partnership & Growth
- Expand strategic partnerships with banks, developers, and renewable energy stakeholders.
- Establish key commercial relationships to drive deal flow and recurring financing opportunities.
- Shape the firm's reputation as Canada's leading provider of ITC bridge financing for small and mid-market clean energy projects.
Ideal Candidate Profile Experience
- 15+ years in investment management, structured finance, project finance, or infrastructure investing.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy, clean technology, or ESG-aligned investments.
- Proven experience building or leading a fund, investment platform, or credit strategy from the ground up.
- Strong network across Canadian financial institutions, energy developers, and/or government stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to raise and deploy institutional capital.
Skills & Attributes
- Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a start-up environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
