Our client, a reputable litigation boutique law firm located in the heart of downtown Toronto, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Insurance Defence Legal Assistant to join their team. This full-time, hybrid position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional with a background in litigation to contribute to a dynamic and high-performing legal practice. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain lawyers’ calendars and scheduling
  • Coordinate Examinations for Discovery, Mediations, meetings, and other key dates
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, pleadings, motion records, and legal documentation
  • Serve and file court documents in accordance with procedural rules
  • Open and close legal files
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the day-to-day operations of a litigation practice
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in litigation
  • Post-secondary Law Clerk Diploma or relevant legal studies
  • Strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, client-focused, and courteous demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Primafact, ACL, Adobe, and Zoom is considered an asset
