Overview:
 
Our client is looking for a Shop Supervisor for their Mine Supplies division.
 
The successful candidate will supervise the overall day to day performance, co-ordination, management and maintenance of the specified second shift to assist in obtaining maximum productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organization while upholding all aspects of compliance and standards and adhering to budget and prescribed criteria.  They are looking for "safety first" minded people with good communication skills, attention to detail and those who can work in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Operations: Oversee the day-to-day performance, coordination, and management of the second shift to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency, quality, and profitability
  • Health and Safety: Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained and address any safety concerns promptly
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and manage the performance of the team, ensuring all team members are focused and deliver key priorities
  • Equipment Management: Supervise the use of equipment during the shift
  • Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate production levels, work schedules to meet targets
  • Problem Solving: Address issues as they arise to minimize impact on production 
  • Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with legal and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within a mining or industrial environment or production/fabrication.
  • Education: Relevant degree or certification in a related field (e.g. Operations Management).
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.  A deep understanding of safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mining consumables
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in orders, supplies, and equipment management
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing conditions and handle unforeseen challenges
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with team members and other stakeholders
  • Time Management: Efficient time management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
 
Work Environment:
  • Physical Demands: The job can be physically demanding, requiring standing, bending, and making repetitive motions.
  • Conditions: The work environment can be noisy, dusty, and dirty.
  • Safety Protocols: Strict safety protocols must be followed to minimize the risk of injury or accidents.
 
Working Hours:
  • Tuesday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Second Shift)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Flexibility for occasional overtime
