Our client is a rapidly growing and established firm with multiple locations. They are currently looking for a skilled wills/estates legal assistant to join their team.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Drafting general correspondence to clients and lawyers with precision and professionalism.
  • Assembling, drafting, proofreading, and filing a variety of legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintaining both physical and electronic document systems to facilitate efficient document retrieval and management.
  • Acting as a liaison between our firm and various clients, providing exceptional service and fostering positive relationships.
  • Assisting in the organization and upkeep of our wills vault, ensuring the security and accessibility of important documents.
  • Managing calendars and emails to facilitate seamless communication and scheduling for our legal team.
  • Exercising sound judgment and initiative to handle administrative tasks, allowing our lawyers to focus on legal matters.
  • Opening and closing files with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to procedural requirements.
  • Coordinating with process servers and couriers to facilitate timely delivery of legal documents.
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned to support the smooth functioning of our Wills and Estates practice.
What You Bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years' litigation experience in Wills & Estates is preferred, demonstrating your familiarity with relevant legal processes and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with colleagues and interact with clients.
  • A keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks performed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CaseLines, and other cloud-based services, enabling you to navigate modern legal technologies with ease.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • A commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality, safeguarding sensitive information and client privacy.
  • Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma is considered an asset, indicating your formal training and expertise in legal administrative functions.
