As your job interview comes to an end, employers will usually ask you if you have any questions. This is an important point in the interview. It’s your turn to ask the questions, so take advantage of this opportunity to not only gain a deeper understanding of the role but to continue to impress the employer. By simply asking a few well-thought-out questions, you could decide if you want to work for the company or not. It could also lead to a conversation that could make you the front runner for the position.

questions to ask employer after job interview

There are a lot of questions you could ask, but there are a few that are a must. Here are some you need to ask your potential employer at the end of the job interview:

HIRE BETTER TODAY

1. Have I Answered All Your Questions?

This is a really important question to ask. It allows the interviewer the chance to circle back and address any additional questions they may have about one of your interview answers or your qualifications. How they answer this question is also a good indication of how you are doing in the interview overall. If they say “no,” it can be an indication that you have performed well to this point. If they do have a question about one of your responses, it gives you an opportunity to provide more information and give a better answer. It’s a win-win for you.

2. Can You Tell Me More About the Future Plans of the Department/Company?

An interview is just as much your opportunity to see if the employer is who you want to work for. It’s important to know what you are potentially walking into. The future strategic plans of a company can tell you a lot about how your career could progress down the road. It can tell you if the role is limited or if you have opportunities to grow professionally and get promoted internally.

3. What Do You Like Most About Working Here?

This is a great question to ask an interviewer because it will tell you a number of things. First, you will receive a personal account of what one person specifically likes. You will also gain some insights about the company culture outside of what is on their website or what they communicated in the job ad.

4. How Does This Position Fit Within the Greater Context of the Department/Company?

Asking this question will give you more detailed knowledge of what the job entails and how what you do will affect the organization as a whole. You know if what you are doing is making a real difference. It also shows that you have a real interest in the job.
